About Liam Davin

Liam Davin is a qualified Sound Engineer, Producer, Technical Trainer and Musician, and has been working in the music industry since the 1970’s, starting as a guitarist, bass player and singer, progressing in the early 90’s to studying Sound Engineering and Music Technology at IMW London, and qualifying as a teacher in the late ’90’s. Whilst continuing to run his own Recording Studio in the South West of Ireland, he has written and run many successful courses on all levels of Audio Production, Music Technology and Music Composition.

His courses are incredibly popular due to the large amount of hands-on time that students get. This is sadly missing from most diploma and degree courses, and although this aspect of his courses isn’t physically possible via the internet, he has written them so that every detail necessary to understand the process is covered clearly and simply and in chronological order, so that the subject unfolds like a journey – just as if the student is attending one of his live courses.

As a sound engineer who is also a musician, he can empathise a musician’s desire to learn to record themselves well, and communicates the technical information in an easy-to-understand manner.

Liam is passionate about all aspects of Audio Production and music technology, and communicates his enthusiasm through his Course Videos and his free YouTube Videos, making them easy to understand and exciting to watch.

Another passion is to make Audio Production accessible to all, which is why he sifts through tens of hundreds of free plugins to find those that are really worthwhile getting, that work both on Mac & PC, as well as teaching on currently the most affordable and flexible (and free for the first 60 days) Digital Audio Workstation, so that anyone, whatever their budget, can start their Audio Production Journey.
